Deephaven reports quasquicentennial event cost and revenue split for beer garden

City staff presented a financial recap of Deephaven’s June 7 quasquicentennial celebration at the July 7 council meeting, reporting total costs of $58,787.99 and donations covering $50,000 of that sum.
Because the council had preapproved up to $10,000 in city support if needed, the final city contribution totaled $8,787.99. A finance report submitted by the Cottagewood Store Foundation showed beer garden expenses of $12,640.75 and beer sales revenue of $24,649.76; consistent with a prior agreement, beer revenue will be split evenly between the Cottagewood Store Foundation and the Thorpe Park Community Event Group, with each organization receiving $6,004.50.
Councilmembers acknowledged volunteers, donors and community partners and said the council will discuss the possibility of making the quasquicentennial an annual event at an upcoming workshop meeting.
