Union posts summer calendar: bike tour, fireworks, markets, camps and festivals

The Township of Union used its Spotlight on Union broadcast to outline a packed summer calendar of community events, from a historical bike tour on July 4 to an Aug. 21–23 Union Jazz Festival.
Key upcoming items announced on the show:
• Historical bike tour and brunch (July 4): Check-in at 7:45 a.m. behind Town Hall with a 12-mile ride starting at 8:30 a.m., visiting five historical sites and ending with a community breakfast at Connecticut Farms Church; the first 100 pre-registered riders receive a complimentary cooling towel and water bottle. • July 4th Spectacular at Biertempfel Park: Concert by the Uptown Band at 7:30 p.m., fireworks at 9:00 p.m., food vendors and family activities; viewers were told to bring chairs and blankets.
• Market at Union: Weekly Thursday evening food and craft vendors in front of the Union Arts Center from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
• Wednesday night summer series: Weekly family events with live music, a DJ, giveaways and a beer garden throughout July and August starting at 6:30 p.m.
• Youth programs and camps: A Summer Entrepreneurship Camp for grades 6–8 runs July 6–10 at the Vauxhall Meeting Center; an "Introduction to Baton" program for ages five and up will meet on multiple July/August dates at Hannah Caldwell School.
• Special events and festivals: Vintage baseball (July 25 at Biertempfel Park), Broadway Babies musical theater camp (Aug. 3–15) and the Union Jazz Festival (Aug. 21–23).
