The Morristown Regional Planning Commission on May 12 approved a site plan to convert an existing house at 5023 Old White Pine Road into a veterinarian office, contingent on the applicant providing at least one van-accessible handicap parking space.
Senior Planner Josh Cole presented the COMM-3308 request, noting the parcel sits inside the Urban Growth Boundary, is about 4.5 acres in size with a 2,400-square-foot building, and is zoned A-1 (Agriculture-Forestry), which allows veterinarian offices as a permitted use with site plan approval. Cole told the commission the site plan meets applicable zoning requirements but must provide at least one van-accessible handicap space to comply with ADA guidance.
Commissioner Jake Stokely moved to approve the site plan; Commissioner John Wallace seconded. The motion carried 7–0.
The approval allows the applicant to proceed with the proposed conversion provided the required accessible parking is added as a condition of the site plan.
