Commissioner Hailey said the Lookout Mountain School gym will be available to the public on Saturdays in December from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with supervisory staff and that he plans to close the football field at the end of the season to allow turf recovery until spring. Commissioner Leavengood introduced school principal Emily Haney, who provided a comprehensive update on school progress and planned activities (the minutes summarize her update but do not list program details).
Commissioner Valadez reported that leaf pick-up and brush removal are proceeding and that drainage problems from recent storms tied to Gulf hurricanes are being addressed. Mayor Jones noted the start of budget discussions for the upcoming fiscal year and recognized the service of former Mayor Carol Mutter, who died in November 2024.
