Richmond Hill council approves multimillion-dollar bonds, disaster-debris contracts and insurance

At its May 5 meeting, the Richmond Hill mayor and council unanimously approved a consent agenda that included acceptance of a Subdivision Performance Bond for Port Royal PUD, POD II, Phase 1 for $3,545,432.81 and a Maintenance/Warranty Bond for Xebec for $838,786.00.
The council awarded disaster-debris monitoring services to Tetra Tech with a contingency contract with Debris Tech should Tetra Tech be unable to mobilize in a timely manner during disaster response, and awarded disaster-debris removal services to Ceres Environmental Services, Inc., with a contingency contract with TFR Enterprise, Inc. The council also approved replacement of an alignment machine through NAPA Auto Parts using SPLOST funds and approved property, auto and public-officials liability insurance through the Georgia Interlocal Risk Management Agency (GIRMA) in the amount of $469,570.
Other consent items included approval of GEFA loan grants and multiple alcohol-license approvals for local businesses and special events (including a May 10 Pavilion event conditioned on hiring off-duty Richmond Hill Police for security). Council moved to approve the Consent Agenda (Councilmember Cindy Hatala) and Councilmember Steve Scholar seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
