Avon council unanimously approves Economic Revitalization Area and unsafe-building expense after brief hearing

Julie Loker, Clerk-Treasurer, opened the meeting, took roll call and recorded that Council members Dawn Lowden (President), Jayson Puckett (Vice President), Greg Zusan (Member) and Bill Holland (Member) were present. Loker read the Town’s Arbor Day proclamation before the council moved to the consent agenda.
Vice President Jayson Puckett moved to approve the check register for April 23, 2026 as presented; Bill Holland seconded. The council took a roll-call vote and the motion passed 4-0. Puckett also moved to approve the April 9 work session memoranda and the April 9 meeting minutes; both motions were seconded by Bill Holland and each passed on a 4-0 roll-call vote.
A public hearing on an unsafe-building processing expense determination was opened at 7:08 p.m. and closed at 7:09 p.m. Attorney Anna Cron presented information for the council. Vice President Jayson Puckett moved to approve the expense determination as presented; Member Greg Zusan seconded. The motion passed on a 4-0 roll-call vote.
Ryan Cannon presented Resolution 2026-12, "Declaring An Economic Revitalization Area." Member Greg Zusan moved to approve the resolution as presented; Vice President Jayson Puckett seconded. The council voted 4-0 to adopt the resolution.
The legal counsel reported there was nothing to report. There were no public comments during the meeting.
