Dr. Young said the plan would zone neighborhoods that drain onto Highway 81 for Oakill and keep neighborhoods that open onto Three Bridges Road for Concrete, which he said helps even out enrollment and leaves capacity for growth. He told the board Oakill zoning would be effective July 1, 2026.
Board members moved and seconded the recommendation and the motion passed unanimously. Administrators said the mapping exercise considered poverty rates, current population and planned housing growth in the corridor between Highway 81 and River Road.
The district will notify families of the change and implement the new lines before the start of the coming school year. No further details on individual student reassignments or transportation changes were provided in the meeting packet.
