School finance staff reported September balances and recent revenue figures and asked the board to approve routine administrative items including the 2025–26 calendar and several PTSO/booster forms.
Finance staff told the board the district holds about 47 certificates of deposit totaling roughly $10.67 million with approximately $292,000 in interest as of Sept. 30. The building program account showed about $27 million in revenue and $14.6 million in expenses, leaving a building-program balance just under $12.8 million, staff said. Food service revenue and losses from a recent hurricane were also discussed; staff estimated about $76,000 in projected lost revenue and roughly $51,000 in discarded food.
The administration recommended approval of the 2025–26 school calendar to align with neighboring districts. The board moved to vote; the calendar was put to a vote and recorded as approved in the meeting record.
Staff also asked the board to approve three PTO/PTSO/booster-club forms (including officer rosters and background-check procedures for treasurers) and recommended the board approve those submittals. Administration additionally proposed moving excess general fund balance above the district’s 25% target into the capital fund to support building projects; staff said auditors and finance would finalize specifics.
Board members asked clarifying questions about timing and the use of fund balance; no additional motions were recorded beyond approval of the calendar and the PTSO forms. Administration noted it would provide more detailed information on any fund-balance transfer when available.
