Anderson 01 board introduces multiple principal candidates, recommends new speech-language pathologist and honors Algebra I team

The Anderson 01 school board heard introductions of four recommended principals and a recommended speech-language pathologist, recognized an Algebra I team for large test-score gains, and moved forward on personnel recommendations.
The Anderson 01 School Board introduced several administrative and instructional hires and recognized teachers for student achievement at its meeting.
Kevin Williams, recommended to be principal at Pville Middle School, said this is his 21st year in education and described his district experience. "This is my 21st year in education ... honored to be here excited for this opportunity to be the principal at pville Middle School," Williams said. SP Horn, introduced as currently principal at Pville Elementary, said she was being recommended for Oakill Elementary and noted more than a decade at Pville Elementary. Kelly Martin and Miranda Leopard each introduced themselves as candidates for elementary principal roles and described their years of experience in district schools. A recommended speech-language pathologist, Haley, said she completed graduate work in communication sciences and disorders at Western Carolina University and has worked in schools for just over a year.
Separately, district leaders recognized an Algebra I team from Coma High School for large gains on the Algebra I EOC: presenters said the team nearly doubled the percentage of students scoring A or C and had nearly 100% of students passing. Mr Moore and colleagues presented certificates to teachers Drew Howen, Madison Duffy and Reagan Stout and acknowledged support staff Lisa Houston and Stacy Carlton for their roles supporting instruction.
The superintendent presented these administrative and teacher recommendations during the personnel portion of the agenda; the board made a motion and voted in favor of the superintendent’s personnel recommendations.
Board members and staff said the introductions and recognitions reflect ongoing efforts to place experienced leaders and to support instructional improvement across the district. Next procedural steps include finalizing contracts and announcing official start dates for recommended hires at a later meeting.
