Finance report: enrollment dip could shave roughly $225,000 off state classroom aid
Summary
The district's finance presenter told the board the 45th-day ADM fell to 2,611 (a decline versus last year) and said a charter-school payment update reduced the district's allocation; he estimated the district will watch a roughly $225,000 swing as final state counts are confirmed in January.

Mr. Moore provided the board with a general fund update through the end of September and flagged enrollment-driven risks to state-aid funding.
He said the district's 45th-day average daily membership (ADM) came in at 2,611—about 32 students fewer than the prior-year reference point—and that charter-school growth had reduced a recent allocation by roughly $47,000. Mr. Moore said the district budgeted conservatively for reduced enrollment and is watching the state's 45th- and 135th-day reconciliations, which he said will be clearer in January.
Mr. Moore told trustees that if current enrollment shortfalls persist, the district would need the reduction's fiscal impact to be $225,000 or less in order to meet the state-aided classrooms revenue assumptions built into this year's budget. He noted payroll costs are slightly higher than budgeted in part because of certificate upgrades and because an unfilled speech-therapist position had required contracting out services.
On sales tax, he reported two recent allocations (August: $35,545.62; September: $39,752.4) and said current receipts were performing well for the district.
Mr. Moore said final state adjustments and add-on weightings remain pending; the board did not take action during the finance report and asked for continued monitoring ahead of January reconciliations.
