Maynardville commission approves personnel ordinance replacement and several administrative actions

The Maynardville City Commission on Feb. 13 adopted a series of routine and administrative measures. The commission approved on second reading O-2025-02, a repeal-and-replace of the city’s personnel ordinance, by a 4–1 vote; Commissioner Isaac Collins was recorded as opposed.
The commission also approved Resolution R-2025-04 addressing water and sewer adjustments unanimously; Len Padgett moved the resolution with Jennipher Ford seconding. On first reading the commission approved O-2025-03, an ordinance addressing abandoned property, by unanimous consent.
Several administrative actions passed without recorded opposition. The commission voted to request a rebid for the CDBG park project (motion by Len Padgett, seconded by Jennipher Ford), to allow Mayor Ty Blakely to sign an easement with the Union County School Board (motion by Len Padgett, seconded by Isaac Collins), to authorize the city manager to contact the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) to request that MUD be placed on a director’s order (motion by Connor Chesney, seconded by Jennipher Ford), and to hold the bond for the Union Estates subdivision until road repairs are completed, construction is finished and the street is repaved (motion by Isaac Collins, seconded by Ty Blakely).
