Ouachita Parish awards Claiborne Road contract and accepts two project completions

The Ouachita Parish Police Jury on Oct. 6 awarded a contract for Claiborne Road and accepted final work on two other parish road projects.
Engineer Mr. Crosby recommended awarding the Claiborne Road project to CW&W Contractors, Inc., the lowest conforming bidder, at $220,978.71. On a motion by Michael Thompson, seconded by Shane Smiley, the Jury authorized the president to sign the necessary contract documents; the motion passed without opposition.
The Jury also accepted the substantial completion for Mohawk Drive after Mr. Crosby presented the completion documentation. The body approved Change Order No. 1 for Castle Creek Drive and accepted its substantial completion on motions that passed without opposition.
These actions were taken in the Public Works Committee meeting and later ratified by the full Jury. The items were routine contract- and construction-administration actions: award to the lowest conforming bidder, formal acceptance of substantial completion, and approval of an administrative change order. No votes against or abstentions were recorded in the minutes.
The projects will proceed to contract execution and the usual post-completion closeout procedures. The Jury did not set additional funding changes at the meeting; any cost adjustments beyond the recorded change order would require future action.
