The Ouachita Parish Police Jury on Aug. 4 adopted Ordinance No. 9524 to authorize acts of sale for two adjudicated properties and to set conditions for the sales.
Parcel #5272 (28 Oakwood Drive) was adjudicated to the Parish on June 2, 2023; the minutes record the purchaser as Sandra Elliot Smith with a bid of $7,607.71. Parcel #48601 (113 Richmond Street) was adjudicated to the Parish on June 12, 2019; the minutes record the purchaser as Naomi Jackson with a bid of $1,622.14. The ordinance specifies that sales are without warranty, reserves all mineral rights to the Parish while conveying surface rights, and requires pre-closing certifications and notice filings from E&P Consulting, LLC verifying title- and notice-related searches as required by statute. The ordinance directs the Police Jury president to execute cash sale documents with the highest acceptable bidder under those conditions.
The measure was adopted by roll call vote, 6–0.
