Taylor Oil submitted guaranteed prices that included Unleaded Plus at $3.2895 per gallon, Diesel at $4.3125 per gallon, #2 Fuel Oil at $4.0075 per gallon, and Propane at $1.79 per gallon. N.E. Mitchell’s bid listed Unleaded Plus at $3.422 per gallon, Diesel at $4.153 per gallon, #2 Fuel Oil at $3.899 per gallon or $3.999 guaranteed, and Propane at $1.786 per gallon or $1.84 guaranteed. The board discussed last winter’s concerns about maintaining sufficient diesel supply during storms.
Rob McGevne, representing N.E. Mitchell, suggested that if delivery interruptions were likely this coming winter the town could lease a temporary 500‑gallon tank to maintain supply. After discussion, Mr. Brett moved to award Taylor Oil the Unleaded Plus and Propane contracts at the guaranteed price and to award N.E. Mitchell the Diesel Fuel and #2 Fuel Oil contracts at the guaranteed price; Ms. Kearcher seconded the motion and the board voted unanimously to approve the awards.
The vote concluded the procurement decision; staff and the road foreman will follow up on delivery schedules and any short-term storage options if winter delivery risk increases.
