Ridgetop board extends gas contracts, authorizes $90,000 for valve replacements and advances ordinance

The Ridgetop Mayor and Board of Aldermen on Oct. 29 voted unanimously to extend two long-term gas agreements, approve $90,000 to finish a gas-valve replacement project, and advance Ordinance 2024-105 on first reading.
Vice Mayor Senft moved and the board approved an extension of the long-term service agreement with Tennessee Gas Pipeline (Contract Number 1361-FTGSTGP); Alderman Gregory seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The board also approved an extension of the long-term gas storage agreement (Contract Number 2080-FSMATGP); Vice Mayor Senft moved and Alderman Harrison seconded.
On infrastructure, the board approved $90,000 to replace the remaining four gas valves to complete the project; Vice Mayor Senft made the motion and Alderman Harrison seconded. The motion carried with all voting in favor.
The board also took the first reading of Ordinance 2024-105, an amendment to section 4-308 of the City of Ridgetop Municipal Code. Alderman Martin moved to accept the ordinance on first reading; Alderman Gregory seconded and the motion carried.
Other items on the agenda included scheduling a city workshop for Nov. 18, 2024, at 6:30 p.m., and routine department reports. The meeting adjourned after unanimous votes on the listed items.
