The subcommittee argued removing numeric caps reflects statewide enrollment declines and volatile state funding, and prevents the committee from being locked into hard numbers that may become unworkable.
Administrators shared enrollment charts to provide context and emphasized the draft keeps educational objectives and budgetary constraints in view. The subcommittee voted to present sections I and G for first reads and to schedule Title IX policy review at a future meeting; members said their goal is to complete policy reviews by the end of the year.
Committee members were invited to review the subcommittee notes and the clean versions of each draft in the shared folder ahead of the March 19 meeting. No formal vote was required at the March 5 meeting; the committee directed staff to post clean copies and subcommittee notes for review.
