On June 9, 2025 the Batesburg-Leesville Town Council adopted on second reading an ordinance to rezone a parcel located at Northeast Barretts (Buritz) Court in Lexington County (TMS 006000000-3-023) from R1, single-family residential, to R1A, a district permitting single-family and manufactured housing.
Mayor Bush opened a public hearing on the ordinance and asked whether anyone wished to speak; meeting minutes show there were no public speakers. Council then closed the hearing and proceeded to the second-reading motion, which carried by the recorded district vote read into the record.
Council did not record additional conditions or amendments to the ordinance during the second reading. The matter will be reflected in town zoning records and the Lexington County tax map system under the cited TMS number.
The council adopted the measure during regular council business; no public comments were entered into the record at the hearing.
