Medina aldermen remove drive‑up beer ban, approve wording changes to beer ordinance

At its Sept. 23 meeting the Board of Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Medina, Tennessee voted 5-0 to delete a proposed ban on selling beer through drive‑up windows and to approve wording changes to a draft ordinance updating the city’s beer-sales code.

Mayor Scottie Betts moved to delete item M under section 8-219 of Ordinance 25-05 — the provision that would have prohibited the use of a drive‑up window from which beer is sold or delivered to patrons — after discussion with Michael Hill, the city attorney. Alderman Angi Mathenia seconded the motion; the board recorded a unanimous 5-0 vote in favor.
