Board reviews lake maintenance, compressor noise and QA audit from Premier Lakes

Premier Lakes representative Bill Kurth and Operations Manager Shane Willis updated the River Ridge Board on lake maintenance and recent quality-assurance findings on July 23.
Kurth reported algae growth consistent with the season, removal of a palm from the shoreline of Lake E7A, and installation of a cabinet around a compressor system that reduced measured sound levels from 64 to 52 decibels. Willis cautioned, however, that the tonal quality of the aerator—not solely the decibel reading—remains problematic. The Board discussed moving the compressor and authorized Mr. Willis to coordinate with Bill and Alex Kurth to evaluate relocation options and report back at the next meeting.
Willis presented the Annual Quality Assurance audit for lake maintenance and dry retention, reporting high water levels this season but no compliance issues with dry retention areas and overall improvement since Premier Lakes assumed maintenance responsibilities; he said the audit will be conducted earlier next year. The Board agreed to delay planting littorals in Lake E4-A until an agreement is reached with the Edgewater Association and to avoid Cana lilies in plantings.
Mr. Kurth left the call after the update. Staff will bring findings about compressor relocation and any revised planting proposals to the next meeting.
