PVPC approves minutes and confirms alternate member for subarea 3

The Pioneer Valley Planning Commission approved the minutes of its Jan. 27, 2025 meeting and confirmed membership changes during the Feb. 24 session.
During roll call the commission voted to approve the Jan. 27 minutes; Bill Dwire recorded an abstention because he had not attended that meeting. Staff then described the annual membership-confirmation process for two-year terms; subarea 3 required a ballot between two interested municipalities after two candidates submitted brief biographies and municipalities voted. The ballot count made Mayor Derby of East Hampton the alternate member for subarea 3, and the commission voted to confirm Mayor Derby. The chair noted that Mayor Derby is eligible to vote as the alternate going forward.
Members had no further questions on the membership confirmations and moved on to remaining agenda items.
