Nauvoo schedules CDBG amendment hearing and special meeting; council holds executive session

Mayor Terry Burgett announced that the town will hold a public hearing on Nov. 4 at 4:30 p.m. at the Nauvoo Town Hall to consider an amendment to the town's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). A special called meeting will follow at 5:00 p.m. with the stated purpose of passing a resolution to amend the grant.
Burgett also announced that the swearing-in ceremony for mayor and council members will occur Nov. 3 at 10:00 a.m. at the community center, with Judge Tucker administering oaths and an organizational meeting to follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Town Hall.
Near the close of the meeting Burgett asked the council to enter executive session to discuss the "good name and character of an individual." The council voted unanimously to enter executive session at 1:41 p.m.; the executive session ended at 2:00 p.m., and the council reconvened only to adjourn the meeting.
