Union Township board approves transfers, summer STEM hires and accepts retirement
Summary

At its March 18 meeting the Union Township Board of Education approved multiple personnel items by consent.
The board approved a building transfer for paraprofessional Kerifa Martin effective Feb. 10, 2025; approved Elizabeth Schenck as a STEM Camp Advisor and Liz Farnsworth as a substitute advisor at $30 per hour for July sessions (each not to exceed $800); and approved Madelyn Nenna as a club paraprofessional outside contractual hours at $30/hour not to exceed 30 hours. The board accepted the retirement of Mildred Wingler, LDT/C, effective June 30, 2025.
The board granted leave requests recorded in the personnel motions, including a five-week paid medical (FMLA) leave for employee #390 from April 28 through May 30, 2025, and a requested unpaid maternity leave for employee #543 from Aug. 22 through Nov. 30, 2025. The board also approved parent volunteers for lunch/recess (Sharon Zawadzki) and a Drama Club volunteer (Lisa Schoberl).
These items were approved as part of the P1'P9 consent agenda and passed by roll-call vote as recorded in the meeting minutes.
