The Union Township Board of Education approved multiple personnel actions by consent at its Sept. 23 meeting.
Key items approved (P1–P9) included a 12-week unpaid child-bonding leave (NJFLA) for Employee #549 from Dec. 2, 2024 through Feb. 28, 2025; the appointment of home-instruction teacher Jaclyn Rivas at $30 per hour; substitute appointments and daily rates for Myles Roerig (teacher, $110/day), Heather Paiva and Melissa Stowers (nurses, $200/day), and Chamundeswari Paduchuri (teacher, permanent substitute $135/day); acceptance with regret of Anthony Mestre’s resignation as baseball coach and appointment of Margaret De Almeida as baseball coach at a stipend of $2,656.00; paraprofessional assignments and amendments including a bus paraprofessional appointment for Patricia Hernandez; and rescission of a withheld salary increment for Employee #118 effective Oct. 1, 2024 with no retroactive back pay.
The personnel consent agenda (P1–P9) was moved by Caitlin Piontek and seconded by Amelia Lamonde and passed on roll call (six in favor, three absent). The board noted that personnel hires are provisional pending criminal background checks where required.
