Waldwick Board approves consent agenda, hears annual state testing report

WALDWICK, N.J. ' The Waldwick Board of Education convened a regular meeting Oct. 7, 2024, approved the Sept. 9, 2024 minutes and a multi-item consent agenda and heard the district's annual state testing report.
President Daniel Marro, Sr. called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and said the meeting notice had been posted at the School Administration Building and delivered to the Waldwick Borough Clerk on Oct. 4, 2024, in keeping with the Open Public Meetings Act, Chapter 231, Laws of 1975. The board recorded the attendance of Trustees Christine Figliuolo, Andrew Frey, Julie Mangler, Mary Beth Nappi, Vice President Troy Seifert and Trustee Amy Weiner. Superintendent Dr. Paul Casarico and School Business Administrator/Board Secretary John Griffin were also listed as present.
Trustee Andrew Frey moved to approve the Sept. 9, 2024 regular meeting minutes; Vice President Troy Seifert seconded the motion. The roll-call vote recorded in the minutes shows all seven trustees voting yes, and the minutes were approved.
Trustee Frey then moved to introduce the consent agenda, which encompassed Administration items 45-A-1 through 45-A-27, Finance items 45-F-1 through 45-F-4, and Personnel items 45-P-1 through 45-P-14. Trustee Mary Beth Nappi seconded. The board opened the floor for public comment on the consent agenda; no members of the public spoke. The consent agenda was approved by roll-call vote with all trustees recorded in the affirmative.
Superintendent Dr. Paul Casarico said the district had returned to its regular cadence following the start of the school year and described back-to-school nights as successful. He introduced Dr. Susan Elias, who delivered the annual state testing report. District administrators Connie Alcoser, Johanna Ross and Joshua Sussman contributed to the presentation. The minutes note that multiple residents asked questions about the report.
With no further business, Vice President Troy Seifert moved to adjourn the meeting; Trustee Andrew Frey seconded, and the meeting was adjourned at 8:22 p.m. The minutes were signed by Board Secretary John Griffin.
