The Vernon Township Council convened a special budget workshop at 6:00 p.m. March 30, 2026, at the Vernon Municipal Center, 21 Church Street, to discuss the proposed 2026 municipal budget. Council President William Higgins presided and read the Open Public Meetings Act notice (N.J.S.A. 10:4-7).
Council members present were Carl Contino, Sandra Ooms, Patrick Rizzuto and Bradley Sparta. Mayor Anthony Rossi and township officials in attendance included Business Administrator Tina Kraus, CFO Patricia Reiche and Township Attorney Peter King. Municipal Clerk Marcy Gianattasio recorded the meeting.
President Higgins asked for and received unanimous council approval to open the public comment period; Bradley Sparta moved and Patrick Rizzuto seconded. Resident Monica Miebach commented on the 2026 budget; the minutes do not record the substance of her remarks. The council later closed public comment by unanimous motion (moved by Carl Contino, seconded by Patrick Rizzuto).
