The Wallkill Valley Regional High School Board on March 18 authorized Parette Somjen Architects to submit a major amendment to the district’s Long Range Facility Plan to the New Jersey Department of Education, a step the board approved as part of policy committee items.
The board also accepted a $500 donation from Vertican Technologies earmarked for the Wallkill Valley Esports program and approved multiple building use applications. SCARC, Inc. was approved to use the upper gym and football field/track for bocce and track and field activities through May 29, 2025, and the board approved a request by the New Jersey State Police to use school facilities on April 21 and 22, 2025, for training from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Policy items and facilities requests were approved by unanimous roll call vote (motion Carlson/Jones). Board Member Virginia Jones noted her support for allowing the State Police to train at the campus earlier in the meeting during public comment.
