The Wallkill Valley Regional High School Board of Education on Sept. 24 approved routine finance measures including a manifest of bills totaling $1,988,496.19 and budget transfers of $133,476.10.
The board accepted the Board Secretary’s and Treasurer’s reports showing a cash balance of $2,626,373.97 as of Aug. 31, 2024, and certified compliance with N.J.A.C. 6A:23A-16.10 regarding line-item encumbrances and expenditures. The certification and financial reports were approved in roll-call motions recorded in the minutes.
The Finance Committee moved and the board approved joint transportation contracts for the 2024–25 school year. The minutes list a Wallkill contract total of $391,231.00 and detail per-diem route entries for specific host districts and routes (examples include per-diem, days and joiner costs for multiple routes). The board also approved a separate contract for 'Choice Students' with a Wallkill cost of $4,708.00 for four students attending High Point Regional High School.
Motions to approve the minutes, budget transfers, certifications, and the manifest of bills were recorded with mover/second notes in the minutes (examples: Bonard/Kabatra and Bonard/Jones). Several motions are described as approved by roll-call vote in the minutes; where the minutes record a unanimous roll call the board recorded unanimous approval.
The approvals cover routine operating expenses, transportation arrangements for the year and the district’s regular financial oversight steps. The register of bills and detailed contract entries are on file with the School Business Administrator/Board Secretary.
