Warren Hills board approves $1.1M bill list, transfers and capital withdrawals for roof and HVAC work

At its Sept. 10 meeting, the Warren Hills Regional Board of Education approved financial items that include the July Board Secretary and Treasurer's reports, a bill list totaling $1,108,790.67 for Aug. 28 through Sept. 10, 2024, and transfers in the amount of $1,173,608.75.
The board also authorized additional withdrawals from Capital Reserve to fund approved construction projects: $20,000 for the district office roof replacement; $110,000 for Warren Hills Middle School Section #19 roof replacement; approximately $85,231 for a new retaining wall at the Excel Building; and smaller listed amounts for other roof work. In support of planned HVAC work tied to ROD (Regular Operating District) grants, the board approved a fee proposal from Design Resources Group Architects: $111,000 for middle school HVAC summer 2025 work and $279,665 for high school HVAC summer 2025 work.
Other approvals included a home/bedside instruction agreement with LearnWell billed at $61.25 per hour (plus administrative costs), a contract with Mountain Lakes Board of Education for Teacher of the Deaf educational support at $180 per weekly session, and acceptance of a partial refund from the New Jersey Schools Insurance Group (NJSIG) of $8,365.83. The board approved sponsorships totaling $750, an $800 donation from the Warren County Board of Agriculture for FFA travel, and a parental transportation contract for Route PCJV1-24/25 to Hunterdon Polytech at $9,310 for the 2024—25 school year. The board also renewed a prescription drug-management services agreement with Benecard Services, LLC at the rates specified in the agenda.
All budget and finance motions were presented as Items III.1—III.16 and were approved by roll call of board members present; no nays were recorded in the agenda roll-call that appears in the minutes.
What happens next: capital reserve withdrawals and design work will proceed according to project timelines; bids, contracts and procurement steps required for construction and HVAC projects will follow district procurement rules.
