The Reinbeck City Council opened and closed a public hearing on adding provisions for mobile food service vendors and gave the ordinance its first consideration on March 2.
Mayor Jamie Eiffler opened the hearing on proposed Chapter 124 and the council discussed the appropriate fee for vendors, noting that the fee will be set by resolution after the ordinance is adopted. Councilmember Trepp moved to give Ordinance No. 2026-03OR its first consideration and to adopt it; Councilmember Wambold seconded and the motion carried 5–0.
Councilmember Johnson later moved to schedule the second reading and public hearing on April 6, 2026, at 5:30 p.m.; Trepp seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The council did not set a specific dollar amount for the vendor fee during the meeting; staff indicated the fee will be passed by resolution after final ordinance adoption.
