Warren Hills board approves $1.4 million in bills, personnel actions and policy second readings

The Warren Hills Regional Board of Education approved multiple budget and personnel motions at its Jan. 7 meeting, including a bill list of $1,399,281.47 covering Dec. 18, 2024–Jan. 7, 2025 and personnel actions ranging from temporary paraprofessional approvals to a retirement acceptance.
By roll call, the board accepted the November 2024 Board Secretary and Treasurer’s reports and certifications required under N.J.A.C. 6A:23A-16.10, approved the general bill list for $1,399,281.47 and the Student Activities bill list for $7,662.43, and authorized transfers totaling $12,651.05 for November 2024.
Personnel motions approved included a maternity leave for teacher Wenjing Feng (art), approvals of 1:1 paraprofessionals and substitute teachers for the high school (some approvals pending receipt of required paperwork), mentor stipends, and the acceptance of the retirement of Diane DeVivo effective July 1, 2025. The board noted several hires were conditional on required paperwork being received.
The board also approved Home/Bedside Instruction Tuition Agreements: Hampton Behavioral Health Center for Student #1554019807 at $47.00 per hour for 10 hours per week, and LearnWell for Student #9487728041 at $61.25 per hour plus an additional 33% administrative/preparation fee for 10 hours per week.
On policy, the board approved second readings of revised policies and regulations: P #5350 (Student Suicide Prevention), P & R #8467 (Firearms & Weapons), and P #9181 (Volunteer Athletic Coaches and Co-Curricular Activity Advisors/Assistants). Administrative determinations on HIB cases were reported as none for both middle and high school for the 2024–2025 year.
The board approved the actions by roll call and adjourned at 6:53 p.m.
