The Reinbeck City Council on Jan. 5 approved a 10½-foot variance request for the People’s Savings Bank that permits an ATM lane canopy to encroach toward the east property line.
Alex Bower of Civil Concepts & Development told the council the canopy exceeds the allowable overhang setback on the east side of the building and requested a 10½-foot variance to allow the canopy up to 9½ feet from the east property line; columns supporting the canopy remain within setback limits. Council member Wambold moved to approve the variance; Pease seconded and the motion carried with five ayes.
The approval resolves a variance that had been missed at the previous meeting and allows the bank to maintain the canopy as described in the variance request.
