Waterford BOE approves $1.61 million in bills, tutoring contracts and cybersecurity grant

The Waterford Township Board of Education on Sept. 18 voted to certify its July 2024 finances and to approve bills and contracts covering routine district operations and targeted student supports.
Assistant Superintendent for Business and Board Secretary Daniel J. Fox presented the Board Secretary certifications required under New Jersey law (18A:17‑9 and related N.J.A.C. provisions) and recommended payment of two bills lists totaling $1,611,131.63 (Bills List #1, $1,566,621.32; Bills List #2, $44,510.31). The board approved the expenditures by roll call vote.
The board also approved a Memorandum of Agreement with New Jersey Tutoring Corps to provide Title I after‑school tutoring for the 2024–25 school year, with program costs of $54,584 for Atco Elementary School and $74,384 for Waterford Elementary School, funded by ESEA Title I/A, Title II/A and High Impact Tutoring funds. Transportation for the program was authorized with First Student contracts totaling $27,029 ($11,814 for Atco; $15,215 for Waterford), paid from Title I funds.
In technology spending, the board approved a license renewal with DLC Technology Solutions, Inc., for Meraki access points and network switches for $24,692.10 for 2024–25; Fox presented the purchase as part of ongoing district network support.
The board acknowledged a USAC award that provides the district $15,000 annually for three years to support cybersecurity work. Smaller community grants from the Waterford Township Home & School Association were also recorded to support Grade 6 activities.
Action and next steps: contracts and payments were approved and will be reflected in the district’s fiscal records; tutoring and transportation contracts will be implemented for the 2024–25 Title I programs.
