At the Oct. 15 meeting of the Warren Hills Regional Board of Education, Ad Hoc committee Chair Erik Heller reported the committee is reviewing whether to allow homeschooled middle‑school students to participate in the district’s middle‑school sports program and stated the group is continuing to investigate questions and concerns brought forward.
During the public comment period, local residents urged the board to move quickly. Mrs. Funk said the request is urgent and Mr. Funk asked whether the board had received his email; Ms. Lamberti asked for information about how the Ad Hoc committee was conducting its review. The comments were recorded by the board and the committee is scheduled to meet again to continue its review.
The discussion remains at the investigatory stage; no policy change or vote to change eligibility was taken at the Oct. 15 meeting.
