Warren Hills board accepts 2023–24 audit and approves $2.6 million in bills, contracts and staff plans

The Warren Hills Regional Board of Education voted Oct. 15 to accept the district’s 2023–24 external audit, which the auditor reported contained no findings or recommendations, and approved a slate of finance motions including a $2,603,760.11 bill list for Sept. 25–Oct. 14, 2024.
The audit was presented by Man Lee of Nisivoccia and the board placed the audit on file after discussion. The board’s acceptance formally closes the external review for the 2023–24 school year, with no corrective actions required.
On budget and contracts, the board authorized several motions: approval of home/bedside instruction agreements; acceptance of a $4,000 credit from the School Alliance Insurance Fund (SAIF) for Tier I safety incentives; and the award of the sealed bid for district garbage removal to Waste Management of NW NJ for the two‑year period Oct. 1, 2024–Sept. 30, 2026, with itemized annual amounts for the middle school, high school, administrative office and athletic complex provided in the bid summary.
The board also approved a voluntary enhanced dental plan to be offered by Delta Dental, with monthly rates quoted for single, two‑party and three‑party coverage and the employee responsible for any premium differential; the district set the plan to be effective Jan. 1, 2025. A $2,700 FY 2023 NJSIG Safety Grant and an in‑kind donation of warmups valued at $5,200 for boys’ and girls’ basketball were accepted.
Additional approvals included special education tuition contracts, a tuition contract with Belvidere School District for a prorated $28,000 placement, and home/bedside instruction agreements with Prime Healthcare Service and LearnWell at the hourly rates listed on the agenda.
All motions in the Budget & Finance section were approved by roll call.
