Canton approves street closures and temporary liquor license for Canton Day Off

The Canton City Council approved temporary closures of Main Street (Aug. 19) and other streets for Canton Day Off (Aug. 18–20) and granted a temporary liquor license to the Canton American Legion for the event dates. Motions were moved by Randy Gossman and carried.
The Canton City Council voted June 14 to approve temporary street closures and a temporary liquor license for the Canton Day Off celebration scheduled in August.
On a motion by Councilmember Randy Gossman seconded by Councilmember Jason Magnuson, the council approved a temporary closure of Main Street for Aug. 19. Separately, the council approved on a motion by Gossman, seconded by Councilmember Kristy Ziegler, temporary closures of streets for the broader Canton Day Off event from Aug. 18–20; both motions carried. The council also approved a temporary liquor license application for the Canton American Legion for Aug. 18–20 on a motion by Gossman, seconded by Magnuson; that motion carried as well.
