Waterford board approves staff changes, retirement and new early‑childhood supervisor

The Waterford Township Board of Education on Aug. 21 approved a slate of personnel actions for the 2024–25 school year, including retirements, hires, lateral moves, resignations and the creation of a new supervisory post.
The board accepted the retirement of Terri J. Tait, Curriculum Secretary, effective Jan. 1, 2025, and approved the appointment of multiple substitutes and support staff pending required documentation. The board also approved lateral moves for certified and support staff and recorded several resignations and transfers listed in the meeting materials.
The board voted to create a certified position titled Supervisor of Early Childhood (UPC 40-45-P2) and approved a change of assignment for Michelle Biggs from a TR teacher (current salary $68,852) to Supervisor of Early Childhood with a new salary of $96,500 and 1.0 FTE, effective for the 2024–25 school year. The personnel package and position actions were presented on the superintendent’s recommendation; the motion to approve personnel items was made by Benjamin De Vuyst and seconded by Jason Galante and carried by roll call.
The board also approved the employment contract for Daniel J. Fox, Assistant Superintendent for Business/Board Secretary, for the 2024–25 school year (attachment referenced in the agenda).
