The Weehawken Board of Education on April 29 certified the Combined Statement of Results from the district election held April 15, 2025, and formally forwarded the results to the Hudson County Superintendent of Elections. The board identified Ildefonso Acosta, Marissa Dennis and Jennifer Martin-Melgarejo as the successful candidates for three-year terms and administered their oaths of office.
Jason Ryglicki, the board attorney, administered the oath to returning and newly elected trustees. Nominations for board leadership followed: Ms. Carson nominated incumbent Ms. Bolcar for board president; after a roll-call vote the board recorded yes votes from Mr. Acosta, Mr. Ahmad, Ms. Cabrera, Mr. Cannata, Ms. Carson, Ms. Dennis, Ms. Martin-Melgarejo and Mr. Pinal, with Ms. Bolcar abstaining. Ms. Bolcar accepted the presidency and assumed the chair. President Bolcar then nominated Mr. Pinal for vice president; on roll call the same set of board members voted yes and Mr. Pinal abstained. Both leadership selections were completed by formal roll-call vote.
The student representative's report was submitted as an attachment to the meeting record. No members of the public offered comments during the meeting's public-comment period. The board’s actions on certification and reorganization were adopted unanimously where recorded, and the newly seated trustees will serve three-year terms under standard New Jersey school-election procedures.
