The board received an October referendum update focused on facilities work, HVAC upgrades and punch lists for recently completed spaces.
Connor O'Brien reported that HVAC work continues in classrooms on nights and weekends with contingency measures so rooms are safe the next school day. He said Bayberry floor ventilators are installed and Valley View units are being finished; rooftop units were recently craned into place. The media center and an updated art room are already in use, and punch lists for finishing touches will be issued to contractors.
Administrators emphasized careful coordination with principals and custodial staff to minimize classroom disruption. O'Brien said remote operational access through the building management system is being enabled so facilities staff can monitor and control new units; the district is working to meet the state heating readiness requirement after Oct. 15.
The board thanked the operations team and reaffirmed that remaining referendum items — fields, an outdoor learning commons and final punch list items — will be discussed at an upcoming town hall and then bid next summer. No final contracts beyond routine payment applications were approved during the public portion; at the action portion the board later approved payment applications for HVAC upgrades and related educational alterations.
