Denton trustees elect Hobelman chair, make 2025 appointments

The Board of Trustees of the Village of Denton elected Joe Hobelman chair for a two-year term at its Dec. 2, 2024, meeting and completed routine reorganization for 2025.
Ryan Osborn took the oath of office as a newly seated trustee. The board conducted a private-ballot election for chair after nominations from Trustee Trenton Wheatley and Trustee Doug Rosekrans; Hobelman received three votes to Amanda Fangmeier’s two and was declared chair. During the nomination process the clerk served as chair pro tem.
The board then approved a slate of appointments for 2025 on a motion by Trustee Doug Rosekrans, seconded by Trustee Ryan Osborn. Appointments recorded in the minutes name Maureen Freeman-Cady as village attorney; Justin Stark as Street Superintendent; Ross Blackledge as Water/Sewer Commissioner; Amanda Fangmeier as Emergency Management Coordinator; Joe Hobelman as Floodplain Administrator; and Charlotte Te Brink as Clerk-Treasurer and Zoning Administrator.
Trustees also designated three official posting locations for public notices — the Denton Daily Double, the Denton Post Office and the Denton Community Center — a routine procedural step to satisfy state open-meeting posting requirements.
The reorganization items passed by voice vote unless otherwise noted in the minutes. The board adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
