Denton trustees approve mower, sprinkler repairs, traffic-control equipment and claims

Trustee motions at the Village of Denton Board of Trustees meeting on Sept. 10, 2024, resulted in approval of several municipal purchases and the board’s claims lists.
Trustee John Juricek moved, and Trustee Trent Wheatley seconded, to approve a bid from ARB for traffic-control signs, barricades and related supplies totaling $5,275.78; the motion carried. Later, Trustee Doug Rosekrans moved and Trustee Trent Wheatley seconded approval of a $750 bid from Lincoln Underground Sprinkler to move and repair sprinklers; the motion carried.
Trustee Amanda Fangmeier moved to purchase a Lazer Z X-Series 72" mower from Crete Ace Hardware for $15,599.00; Trustee Doug Rosekrans seconded and the motion carried. The board reviewed but did not approve a Mattice Lock bid for smart locks, instead reaching consensus to obtain an additional bid before taking action.
Trustee John Juricek moved and Trustee Amanda Fangmeier seconded approval of Claims List A for $4,543.63, Claims List B for $13,092.90, and August payroll of $8,461.42; the motion carried. Maintenance staff Blackledge requested authorization to apply for a 2025 security grant to purchase a GPS locator unit; the record notes the request but no formal vote is recorded. The board appointed Trustees Joe Hobelman and Doug Rosekrans to conduct employee evaluations, tentatively scheduled for Monday, Sept. 16 at 2 p.m.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m. and the minutes were certified by Clerk-Treasurer Charlotte Te Brink.
