Denton trustees question sidewalks, PUD and zoning on Linda’s Retirement Development preliminary plat

The Board of Trustees of the Village of Denton discussed the preliminary plat for Linda’s Retirement Development at its Sept. 10, 2024 meeting and raised several policy and design questions but took no formal vote.
Trustee John Juricek and other board members questioned why the developer requested R2 zoning for Block 3, Lot 2 and asked for clarification of sidewalk requirements and proposed changes to minimum lot standards. The trustees also expressed concern about how the planned-unit development (PUD) designation would affect lot layout and standards.
The discussion centered on specific compliance and ordinance questions rather than a decision on the plat. Board members asked staff to provide an example of another PUD ordinance so the trustees could compare standards and better evaluate the submission.
