Vice President Dean Dodaro brought discussion of a proposed fall 2024 field hockey program onto the board's agenda during the superintendent's report at the Aug. 19 Tabernacle Township School District Board of Education meeting. Dodaro moved to place the discussion in new business; the motion, seconded by Mrs. Erica Vining, passed unanimously.
Board members reviewed the program's budget and logistics but took no formal action to launch a team. During the public-comment periods, TEA co-president Brittany Murro and resident Rebecca Skare raised logistics and organization questions about fielding a team, including scheduling and resources; Murro also asked that the board make agenda attachments available to the public. The minutes record that board members referred detailed questions to the second public-comment period and to new business discussion.
The board did not vote to create or fund the program at the Aug. 19 meeting; members instead discussed options to address scheduling, staffing and budget impacts during the 2024-25 school year. The board deferred further decision-making and did not set a follow-up vote date in the minutes. The topic will reappear on a future agenda if the board schedules a formal proposal.
