Commission ratifies dozens of licensure applications and ownership changes; recusals noted

The Tennessee Commission for Licensing Health Care Facilities ratified a broad slate of licensure applications and change-of-ownership filings at its Aug. 28 meeting.
The Commission approved initial qualifying applications that included ambulatory surgical treatment centers, homes for the aged, home health agencies, home medical equipment providers, professional support services, outpatient diagnostic services and hospice providers. The vote to ratify initial qualifying applications carried after a recusal: Tim Evans recused himself from the Karing Hearts Cardiology Heart and Vascular Center (File #259) consideration; James Wright moved and Barbara Brennan seconded the ratification motion.
The body also ratified multiple CHOW qualifying applications affecting assisted care living facilities and nursing homes, including Charter Senior Living of White House (License #549) and several nursing-home CHOWs. Jellico Community Hospital (License #7) was approved in a CHOW ratification after Jeremy Biggs recused himself from that item; Mr. Evans moved to approve and Ms. Sweitzer seconded.
All ratifications were recorded as approved by the Commission members present; recusals were noted on the record where relevant. These approvals permit the listed providers to proceed with initial licensure or ownership transitions under Commission rules.
