Board adopts AI policy on second reading, approves transportation jointures and emergency Harker repairs

The Swedesboro-Woolwich Board of Education unanimously approved policy 2365, Acceptable Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence, on second reading at its Sept. 11 meeting.
The curriculum and policy committee recommended the AI policy for a second reading; the formal motion (Dickson/McGovern) was recorded and the board voted unanimously (9-0) to adopt the policy. The minutes list the policy by number (2365) and identify the action as a second-reading adoption.
On operations matters the board approved facility-usage requests contingent on required insurance certificates and 501(c)(3) documentation. The operations committee also recommended and the board approved transportation jointures with Logan Township and Kingsway Regional School Districts for the 2024–25 school year, and approved the bus routes for 2024–25.
The board also approved an emergency resolution to authorize repairs at Harker School; the minutes record that the emergency repair resolution was approved as submitted. These operational approvals were recorded as motions in the minutes and carried by recorded unanimous votes where noted.
The board named Mrs. Gina Azzari and Mrs. Natalie Baker as delegates to NJSBA and GCSBA, respectively, and adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
