Haileyville board approves hires, wages and annual policies; schedules Indian Education Policy hearing

The Haileyville Board of Education on Sept. 9 unanimously approved a slate of personnel hires, routine financial items and annual policy plans, and scheduled a public hearing to solicit input on the district’s Indian Education Policy and Procedures.

The board approved the Aug. 12, 2024 meeting minutes and authorized General Fund and Building Fund warrants and purchase orders. It also approved the Treasurer’s and Activity Fund report for September 2024. Rusty Johnson moved to approve the minutes; Lindsay Curtis seconded, and the motion passed with each of the five board members recorded as voting yes.

On personnel, the board approved hiring Lindy Ranallo as an ISD regular support substitute (part‑time, three days per week), Reba Polly Burke as a certified elementary substitute (part‑time, half days, two days per week), and Kim Neverkovec as custodian for the 2024–25 school year. The board also approved an increase to wages for cafeteria substitutes and daily wages for support and certified substitutes, and approved a Days‑to‑Hours worksheet for payroll conversion. All personnel motions passed unanimously.

The board voted to schedule a public hearing to receive input on the Haileyville Public Schools Indian Education Policy and Procedures and to allow the board to discuss and vote on adoption after the hearing.
