Stone Harbor council adopts construction-code amendment, advances zoning and committee changes

The Stone Harbor Mayor and Council adopted Ordinance 1675, which amends Chapter 230 (Construction Codes) of the municipal code, during the Feb. 18, 2025 regular meeting after a single public comment. The motion to adopt passed unanimously.
On first reading, the council considered a set of related municipal-code changes. Council voted to table Ordinance 1676, which would amend Chapter 25 (Boards and Committees). The motion to table was made by Councilmember Victor Foschini and seconded by Frank Dallahan; it passed with all councilmembers voting yes.
The council then introduced Ordinance 1677, repealing Chapter 25 sections 25-1 and 25-2. That introduction passed on a roll call vote with Councilmember Robin Casper recorded as voting No and other members voting Yes. Councilmember Jennifer Gensemer moved the introduction.
Finally, the council introduced Ordinance 1678 to amend Chapters 345 and 560, changing residential standards in the Business Zone. Councilmember Bunny Parzych moved the introduction and Councilmember Ken Biddick seconded; the motion carried with one abstention (Councilmember Gensemer).
These ordinance actions were taken during the meeting’s New Business agenda and will follow the municipal process for subsequent readings and public hearings where required.
