Selectmen review neighborhood assistance participation, 250th events, RFPs and job postings

At the June 9 meeting the Board of Selectmen reviewed a set of routine town business items.
Neighborhood Assistance Program: The Deep River Housing Authority confirmed it will participate in the Neighborhood Assistance Program in 2026. Tri-Town Youth Services announced it will not participate this year. The board agreed to hold a special meeting to assist with the application process for participating organizations.
Transfer Station Committee: No representative from the Transfer Station Committee attended the meeting; the board received no update.
Deep River 250th Anniversary: Representatives provided updates on upcoming events organized by the Deep River 250th Committee. Notably, Grass Roots Concerts will be held on Thursdays at 6:30 PM at Devitt Field as part of the celebration schedule.
Selectmen's report: The board reported that Requests for Proposals for paving projects have been issued and are currently under review. The town has posted employment opportunities to fill upcoming vacancies, including positions for Building Department Clerk, Assistant Town Clerk, and Parks and Recreation staff.
The meeting also recorded routine procedural actions: approval of minutes from May 26 and June 1 passed unanimously and the meeting adjourned by unanimous vote at 6:23 PM.
