Chairperson Lori Gregan called the Town of Deep River Community Health Committee to order at 6:03 p.m. on June 8 in the Richard H. Smith room at Deep River Town Hall. Committee members present included Joyce Berardis, Jackie Calamari, Secretary Emily Chase, Juanita Figueroa, Nancy McGee, Betsy Scholfield and Kelsey Sneed; Faith Sprigg joined during the meeting.
The committee read and accepted the minutes with no corrections after Jackie Calamari moved to approve and Joyce Berardis seconded the motion.
The treasurer reported account balances as of June 8, 2026: Checking $7,126.53 (down $807.23 since April 30); a Money Market at 3.70% holding $155,298 (up $487.23 since April 30); and a total fund balance of $162,424.53 (down $320 since April 30). Committee members also reviewed recent expenses and revenue: April expenses were $791.28 (including one motel voucher); year-to-date expenses totaled $7,462.09, of which $1,968.45 was spent on backpack supplies. May revenue was $0 and year-to-date revenue was $3,523.55. A motion to accept the treasurer's report was made by committee member Joyce Berardis and seconded by Nancy McGee; the motion passed.
On fundraising logistics, the committee discussed the timeline for Annual Fund letters: business mailings are planned for late July and residential mailings for early September, with printing expected to take one business day from Pages.
Program planning included a confirmed date for the Backpack Program packing: the committee set July 30 as the start of a four-week packing schedule. Regarding the Food Pantry, the committee noted 119 visitors in the last month, including five new clients, and said many people learned about pantry services through peers; members agreed to attempt gathering more client data to inform outreach and operations. Volunteers were reported to be performing well.
Under other business the committee set its next meeting for Aug. 4, 2026, at 7 p.m. Secretary Emily Chase moved to adjourn; Jackie Calamari seconded the motion, and the meeting was adjourned at 6:41 p.m. "All in favor" was recorded for the adjournment.
The committee did not record any contested votes, formal roll-call tallies, or unresolved motions during this meeting.
