Ithaca council adopts routine resolutions, approves mowing contract addendum and $9,200 budget amendment

At its Jan. 20, 2026 meeting the City of Ithaca City Council adopted a slate of routine administrative resolutions and approved two operational items: a contract addendum for mowing services and a budget amendment to pay school crossing guard wages.
Clerk Cathy Cameron presented and the council adopted the following resolutions by roll call vote (Ayes: 6; Nos: 0; Absent: 1): 2026-01 (Public Act 152 Compliance), 2026-02 (STC Partial Poverty Exemption Guidelines), 2026-03 (Poverty Income & Assets), 2026-04 (Adopt Alternate Dates for Board of Review), 2026-05 (Allow Written Protests to the Board of Review), and 2026-06 (Consumers Energy Lighting Change). The minutes record unanimous votes on each item.
Manager Jamey Conn presented an addendum to the mowing services contract with Mid-Michigan Turf Pros, LLC extending the original contract for 2026 and 2027 and raising the agreed rate per mow by 10%; Council approved the addendum (moved by Clark Hubbard, seconded by Brooke Vernon).
Treasurer Luke Klifman presented a FY25-26 budget amendment to cover payroll for school crossing guards, now the city's responsibility as of Jan. 1, 2026. The amendment increases wages by $9,200; Ithaca Public Schools will reimburse the city $4,600 (50% per the agreement). The council approved the $9,200 amendment (moved by Rob Endter, seconded by James Andrew).
All motions carried. The minutes record no public comment and no opposed votes on the items described. The meeting adjourned at 6:26 p.m.
