The City of Ithaca City Council met Jan. 6, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. Mayor Brett Baublitz presided. The council approved the Dec. 16, 2025 regular meeting minutes, excused Councilperson Kristyn Roethlisberger, approved the meeting agenda and a consent agenda of routine administrative items, and adjourned at 5:33 p.m.
Councilperson James Andrew moved to approve the Dec. 16, 2025 minutes; Councilperson Clark Hubbard seconded and the motion carried. Councilperson Clark Hubbard then moved to excuse Councilperson Kristyn Roethlisberger; Councilperson James Andrew seconded and the motion carried. Councilperson Rob Endter moved to approve the meeting agenda, with Councilperson Clark Hubbard seconding; that motion also carried.
The consent agenda was moved by Councilperson Clark Hubbard and seconded by Councilperson Brooke Vernon. The City Manager’s written report listed updates on the 911 Dispatch Center, Animal Control property, an "Ellen's Property" sale, the Good Morning Gratiot Award, police services and the Landbank Authority. The council approved claims recommended by City Treasurer Klifman, covering Accounts Payable Checks #51178-51211, Payroll Checks #17147-17151, DD #3542-3570 and EFT #2108-2118. The consent agenda passed by roll-call vote: Ayes (6) — Councilpersons James Andrew, Rob Endter, Brandon Ester, Clark Hubbard, Brooke Vernon and Mayor Brett Baublitz; Nos (0); Absent (1) — Councilperson Kristyn Roethlisberger.
Mayor Baublitz opened two opportunities for public comment; no members of the public spoke. No committee or department reports were offered, and City Manager Jamey Conn reported there were no questions on his written report. The council recorded no unfinished or new business and made no substantive policy decisions at the meeting.
Councilperson Clark Hubbard moved to adjourn; Councilperson Brandon Ester seconded. The motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 5:33 p.m. The minutes were signed and approved Jan. 20, 2026 by City Clerk Cathy Cameron.
